Hey, howdy, hi!! What’s kicking, people? 😁🙋♀️
And no I’m back! And no I’m not crying and running away like the last time 🤭… I’m actually back in spirits! (And NO I didn’t think it’d happen either😂🙆♀️💪)
After the last couple of posts I was a tad bit dubious about my schedule but well, here we are!😁
Seeing as you’re reading this, you’re probably in the same situation as me wondering how on earth summer sped by without you stepping out of the house. 😶🙄 This was the first such summer for me. And the first ever one without a beach in the picture *bawls her eyes out*
(I’m possibly the only idiot still holding onto summer when everyone’s raving about autumn and the festive season ahead. On top of that its cloudy and raining too hahah👏)
Though we’ve all pretty much resumed our jobs and studying, I can’t help yearning for a holiday.🥺 So I thought why not go down the memorylane and go travelling in our heads? 😁😍 And so its St.Petersburg for today!!😁
Although I must say, St. Petersberg doesn’t classify as one of those beach holidays. It was fairly cold for summer, with chilly, windy evenings. But it was SO beautiful that I’m really not complaining😂💕 This is a continuation of my travel to Moscow for my dance excital last year (YES!🤩), after which we took the train to St. Petersburg.
Taking the Sapsan Train to St.Petersburg
Sapsan is a Russian, high speed electric express train, named after the world’s fastest bird, The Peregrine Falcon.🦅
Me being energetic, I held my phone over every Russian word and this time, it automatically translated “Sapsan” to “Pergerine Falcon” and I weirdly wanted to clap my hands🤪😂😂

We stayed at a gorgeous little boutique hotel. And then off to touring!
Nevsky Prospekt:
Yaayy! My FAVOURITE ever street in whole of Russia because it’s a shopping street! Woohoo.*dances🎵* And the buildings were as usual extra large! *fist pumps*

(Oh those darling Chanel stores)

(When it got darker and the lights came up!)
Cheers to the last beautiful summer I had, travelling last year, before this pandemic struck doom on all our heads😶 Though I know we’re the luckiest lot this year!😣🤞
Random buildings and stores!

Getting a little historic…..
The Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood
That’s the ceiling💕 (The entire time I was walking only with my head fixed towards the sky😂) It’s an orthodox church, which currently functions as a museum too.
St. Issac’s Cathedral
Canals and Rivers! (My favourite!💕)
And finally, That’s the famous River Neva which overlooks the Winter Palace. On a closer look…
Here’s a part of the Winter Palace, which is St. Petersburg’s most famous building,
There’s also the Summer Palace along with the Winter Palace. But I shall be covering the Palaces entirely on the upcoming post since I figured this was getting long😂 But you got the sneak peak of the Palace here!
I loved visiting St. Petersburg more than Moscow. It was a quaint little place – so dead gorgeous and interesting that I absolutely adored every bit of it. I suppose it could also be because I didn’t expect this much out of the country- which turned out to be a lovely surprise! Infact I tried to record every information on my phone as we passed because I so badly didnt want to let go.😃
Stay tuned for the Upcoming Post on the Palaces in St. Petersburg and also as to why there are so many palaces here in the first place.
I hope you enjoyed this virtual tour to a foreign land. 😂😍 And I hope the sights, streets and buildings were a feast to your eyes, since we aren’t able to go out much these days. 😐 I loved every moment of putting together these pictures, because for some time I truly lost myself in a different land😇
Which picture/place was your favourite? Have you been to Saint Petersburg? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!
P.S. Thank you so so much to everyone who genuinely gave me all your support when I felt so lost. Your love and support was truly irreplaceable. I was so overcome that I had to take some time before replying to your sweet words in the comments , and for once this chatterbox became speechless😇😂 *bows*
I honestly want to show how much I appreciate the love, instead of just saying “thank you” repeatedly😂🥺 But do know, I am and will always be grateful to you. Kindness is never lost. And I’ll be there whenever you need💕 because I’ve somehow landed into this amazing community of people who actually listen to me and hold my back, while the rest of the world judges. And I’d only be an idiot if I didn’t realise that. Thank you again. :))))
wow, BriN!! that looks awesome!! i loved the photos, they are SUPER pretty. is it just me, or does the Peregrine Falcon train remind me of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children?

Yayy thank youu! I loved them too🤗💖 Ooh haha, I’ve gotten used to it now but it so came to my mind when I first heard about the train!🤭😂🙌💕 That’s a quirky movie though.😁

There are also so many places I’d like to go in America too though.

I have not been to St. Petersburg. I haven’t been to Europe at all. (And for the record, I haven’t been to St. Petersburg, USA either.) Looks like a fascinating place.

Oohh I knew it! I was suspicious of having come across another St. Petersburg but I couldn’t place it. So apparently its in the US😃 Thanks for visiting! 🙂

Yes… specifically, in Florida on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico (that peninsula sticking out of the southeastern US – you’re from the UK, right? How well do you know our states? That is a serious question, I don’t know the average European’s knowledge of North American geography). St. Petersburg is one of the three major cities of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area, along with Tampa and Clearwater.
And that’s about all I know, since I’m on the opposite side of the US 🙂

Oh wow that’s all new to me. I think the names are familiar though🤔 Maybe the ones who chose History or Geography as their Higher subjects might know. But I don’t think we covered much of the US in all of the social studies we did, except the World War ofcourse 😅😄
So all that I know about this amazing country is purely from books and personal interest😇😁

Got it. I saw on the Internet once a thing that said something like “How Europeans see the US,” and the entire west coast was labeled “California,” the entire Northeast was labeled “New York,” and everything else was “Texas.” I laughed and commented that that is also how people living in one of those three states see the US. (Those three are the highest in population, containing – let me look it up – 26% of the population of the US as of the 2010 census, although when data from the 2020 census is tabulated, it is expected that Florida will pass New York for third.) The US is so big, and there are so many different subcultures among the different states.
Personally, I think that is a big part of the reason why things here have become so heated politically. Not only are there many different subcultures with different values and lifestyles, but the federal government is now much more powerful than our founders intended, so you have a lot more situations where, for example, the smaller and more rural states feel that their way of life is threatened by voters in the more populous states who do not respect or understand the way of life in other states. And this happens within states as well; for example, the rural parts of California have a very different lifestyle and economy from the urban parts and very little representation in the state government because legislative seats are apportioned by population. In the early history of the US, many compromises were made to get people from different states to go along with things, but the way that the government has evolved, there seems to be so much less compromise these days; instead, each political party just wants to get at least 50.1% percent of the vote so they can rule the other 49.9% of the country by force.

Ooh that’s a lot of information! But this isn’t new I guess? I guess every country has rurals who feel underrepresented and the government focuses on schemes to include them as well, etc.
But I agree the US is a reallyy diverse place! Thanks for taking the time to explain to me. 😀

Hey my awesome City pa 🤘😂😂l; I hope that you are still doing well in the city haha.
I just had to pay you a visit and comment to let you know that I am still here — due to many of the things I am preoccupied with lately, which are pretty interesting things, I typically would check out blogs earlier in the day and leave likes, so that is what I have been trying to do whenever I come by your blog (and many others 🤣🤣).
But I commented today to let you know that I am still here looking around and absolutely love to see the work that you are doing haha

Hahaha it is always pleasure my friend and I am tremendously happy to know that you liked my pokes at humor and that I put a smile on your face because putting a smile on your face is the only thing that is better than blogging on this awesome site bar-none 👌😂🥳🎊.
It’s the least I can do to make up for all the time that has passed and it was also a great opportunity to show you that I am still alive and well and untouched by COVID 🤘😄.
Absolutely, you are clearly not disappeared lol; in fact you have been doing more than I had even realized, until recently when you came and visited me and then I came over to your blog and saw how many marvelous things I had missed 🤣🤣.
Yeah I can tell that you were customizing — you did a wonderful job 🤩🤩. I thought I was doing “interesting things” but the “interesting things” I was doing, were not as interesting as you hahaa

🤣🤣 yes exactly, customizing on this site is alot of fun especially when you get to understand the functions much better, but things can be tricky 😂😂. I try to do the best with mines as I can but there are certain things you can’t get around unless you upgrade the plan hahaha
Hahaa no problem Brin, that’s all I needed to see; your joy and laughter says it all 😄🥳✌️💕

You are literally the best! 😁Thankyou honestly xD
Haha and yeah I agree about the plan, but mostly the trouble borders on making every graphic complementary to the other (phew!)😂👅
Glad I’m done for now anyway!😁

Awww thanks, my face is lit up like a Christmas tree haha. It takes one to know one 💙💙😄
Yass 🤣🤣 designing the graphics to compliment things in just the way you want, is certainly a challenge. Making all that cool and awesome work then only to find out that you can’t use it because you don’t have the necessary access to certain CSS properties and features, or particular settings of the profile or the theme, just adds a new layer of buzz-kill 🤣🤣
I am happy that you are content with what you have been able to achieve and I must compliment you on the work you have done — it’s fire 🔥🔥👌😄

Oh, and your questions:
Which picture/place was your favourite?
The one with the building that looks like the house in the woods that Hansel (or maybe Gretel) pushed the witch into the oven inside – you know the one. 🙂
Have you been to Saint Petersburg?
Nope, but I hope to now. The nearest I got to Russia was writing a series of stories about it. Moscow specifically.
What do you think?
Ooo, that’s a wide question. Lots of things! I think about the falsity of hotel sex, I think about filling in crosswords without looking at the clues, I think of how you are reading this and thinking … well, actually, I have no idea what you’re thinking. Care to enlighten me? 😉
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh my what an envisage😂 As precise as it sounds, I sadly can’t find that “house with the hot aga” here😂 I’d love to have you point out the Gingerbread house that I so seem to be overlooking lol 😜😂
Oh that’s great now! A virtual travel. I love Russian stories😁😄
😂😂😂 Well I’m actually thinking why hotel sex should be a falsity but instead I’m going to say that I’m just thinking why on earth anyone would solve a crossword without the clues😂😂 (Which is also true🤷♀️😂)
Thanks for reading! 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh. I guess I meant the one tagged with ‘When it got darker and the lights came up!’ 🙂 Sorry for the confusion.
As to the falsity of hotel sex, well I guess it’s all about a hotel room being a setting that’s detached from normal life and so things that happen there are not part of the truth about what a person normally is. Hence there’s a patina of falsity around them. That’s my take anyway. It’s actually part of a lyric from a song that’s stuck in my head (https://genius.com/Ex-re-the-dazzler-lyrics).
Crosswords? Pah – who’s interested. There was a crossword book on the table when I wrote the article. I’ve written whole novels using the same method (which is why I spent time in a hospital waiting room whilst writing my first one).
I thank you for your entertaining words. 😉
